When cleaning decks or fences surface preparation is the KEY to outstanding results. We like turning something old, gray or mildewed into something beautiful. Thorough cleaning of the deck or fence is essential to get good results. If the deck was previously sealed, you must strip off the old sealer or stain rather than just clean the wood unless READY SEAL was previously used. Then you would just need a good wood deep cleaning brightener then READY SEAL can be reapplied. WOLMAN can not be reapplied over WOLMAN sealer or stain. Many of  Wolman's stain's are rated #3 by consumer report but once 3 or 4 years go by and dirt, mildew comes back then a good wood cleaner-brightener can be applied. One draw back is WOLMAN sealer or stain can not be applied back over previous sealer or stain until the surface has weather for 2 to 3 years. Also after this time has passed you still may need to strip areas that have Wolman finish on the surface. READY SEAL can be applied over a previous deck or fence that had READY SEAL previously applied. Additionally with READY SEAL it is formulated so it can be applied year around. Temperature is not a factor like other semi-transparent stains. Here recently we started using CABOT stains. The last few years coustomers requested this stain, after research we found it was rated #1 by consumer report plus they have many different colors that home owners would like. Now new for 2007 we offer CABOT stain applications, we like to offer a variety to our customers since these stains have a good reputation and results.

Always remember a good stripper, wood neutralizer and brightener is the beginning key factors in any wood restoration job, surface prep is the KEY.
